The big reveal

These are photos from our trip to Waterton Lakes National Park in September 2010. (The USA side of the park is called Glacier National Park.) At this point in Myrtle's restoration, nearly everything is complete. Next season we will be installing the furnace and hooking up the stove and fridge.

Nice pics! What is that rod in front of the front windshield center?

The rod is the antenna :)

Beautiful pictures. Myrtle looks like she is fitting right in with the landscape. Love the shot of the buffalo.

Thanks so much Laura! I hope to have an announcement in 2011 of Myrtle's inclusion in a book on vintage RV's. She is a real looker and super fun!

Awesome photos! Love the one where the wildflower is in focus & Myrtle & the mountains are out of focus...it makes you feel like, "did I just see what I thought I saw?"

Wow, this wonderful! She is beautiful! Where did you find the adorable curtains?

VoyageVixen said...

thanks sherry. I found the curtains as new old stock at an antique store in Edmonton that specializes in MCM. their website is: http://populuxeretro.com/

Myrtle IS such a beauty! And i agree with the others.. GREAT pics! And i love the clock & curtains too... Makes it feel like we've stepped into the 50's! :-) Great touch!

And thanks for the info on the Edmonton antique store! Too bad it's so far away. We used to have a HUGE, 'ALL 50's & 60's' antique store here in Vancouver, but unfortunately, it went out of business before the big retro boom this last decade! If ONLY they could have held on just a bit longer... they'd be making a killing now!

Thanks for checking out Myrtle, Amberjoon. I notice when I notice on line that there seems to be a few mid century stores in vancouver. Have you check any of these out:

One word: AWESOME! Myrtle looks so beautiful, I can see that you put a lot of effort and love in restoring her. I think it's quite comfortable inside the van. And the pictures are also gorgeous. I think Myrtle will last a lifetime with you guys.
